🌱 PlantForm Project Kick-off Meeting in Eura, Finland

The PlantForm project (Erasmus+ KA220-SCH) has officially launched with a dynamic and inspiring two-day Kick-off Meeting held on 26–27 November at Kauttuan koulu in Eura, Finland. This meeting marked the beginning of a collaborative European journey to reshape how environmental education is delivered in schools.
PlantForm sets out to redefine sustainability education by integrating artificial intelligence, real-world environmental data, and gamified learning approaches into everyday classroom practice. At its core, the project will develop an AI-powered Digital Garden platform—an innovative digital environment where students can interact with real data, simulate ecological processes, and experiment with sustainability concepts in an engaging, hands-on way. By merging environmental literacy with digital competence, PlantForm directly supports the priorities of the European Green Deal and the Digital Education Action Plan (2021–2027).

👥 A Strong European Partnership
The consortium brings together five partners from Finland, Greece, Sweden, and Slovakia, representing a diverse ecosystem of schools, universities, and research organisations. This multidisciplinary collaboration ensures that PlantForm combines pedagogical expertise, technological innovation, and practical classroom experience.

🤝 Key Outcomes of the Kick-off Meeting
Over two productive days, partners worked intensively to establish a shared vision and a solid operational foundation for the project. The meeting focused on:
• building trust and a strong collaborative culture among partners
• aligning the project’s objectives, methodology, and expected impact
• clarifying roles, responsibilities, and timelines across all Work Packages
• initiating the conceptual and technical design of the Digital Garden platform
• co-designing the structure of the “train-the-trainer” programme, which will empower educators to confidently use AI-driven tools in sustainability teaching
• planning pilot implementations in three countries, ensuring that project outputs are tested, refined, and adapted to real classroom contexts
• defining a comprehensive strategy for communication, dissemination, and stakeholder engagement

đź’ˇ Looking Ahead
The next phases of PlantForm will focus on researching best practices in environmental and digital education, followed by the development of the platform and training materials. Teachers will play a central role throughout the project, not only as users but as co-creators of innovative pedagogical approaches.
A key milestone will be the creation of the PlantForm Lab—a sustainability and replication hub designed to ensure that the project’s results remain accessible, scalable, and impactful beyond its lifetime. Through this, PlantForm aims to contribute to a long-term transformation of school education across Europe.

🌍 Impact and Vision
PlantForm is more than a digital tool—it is a step toward cultivating a new generation of learners who are:
• environmentally aware and responsible
• digitally skilled and confident
• capable of understanding and responding to real-world challenges
By embedding sustainability and technology into education in a meaningful way, the project supports schools in becoming active agents of change in the green and digital transitions.
